Alphabetizing CDs means that I encounter bands that I did not know existed daily. The following are some of my favorites:
-Propagandhi (disappointingly generic sounding political punk/alternative (at least according to what I sampled on iTunes)).
-The Revolting Cocks (punk/alternative... nothing terribly exciting, although song titles such as "Hookerbot 3000" make them a sure thing for Happy Dance Junk 9.)
-Llama Farmers (my latest (and now) favorite find-- they coincide with a recent love of more low key, acoustic music and the album we have in stock (El Topo) is pretty good, at least, as far as I've listened).
-The Spill Canvas (Not too strange, but it sounds artsy (and the album looks really cool)... unfortunately the music is nothing too exciting. It's like a slightly improved Dashboard Confessional.)
-Sigur Ros (Yay for Icelandic bands-- the name isn't what caught my eye. The CD case has naked people running across a road on it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B001AGHC1I/ref=dp_image_0 )
-Slightly Stoopid (We stock an amazingly large number of CDs by this artist-- not terribly surprising. That said, it's an interesting mix of alternative and reggae.)
After several 8-hour days of listening to the same 5 (country and Christian) CDs, I finally got to change them. Of course, when I return the manager has replaced the CDs I had changed back to the obnoxious country and bad Christian music. ("God is my friend/I'm His friend/He calls me friend" --we get the point, how about some intelligent lyrics now?).
If the number of CDs we stock means anything then Odessans are enamored of Mudvayne, Slipknot, Quiet Riot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica (the most prolific so far-- including several CDs by tribute bands), Marilyn Manson and Meatloaf. That said, we also stock a decent selection of Loreena McKennit (oh, how I love her music). Can you tell I finished with "M" today?
I have a deeply held love of strange music. So I did what anyone would do in this day and age and devoted a blog to it.

Scooter
Nothing I could write will prepare you for this, so... enjoy.
(The high point for me was when he yelled "THE PAINTED COW!")

And now something from the good ol' USA:
I'm not sure what is more obnoxious: the screaming? the hair? After much thought, I'd have to go with the way the singers go about choking the female back-up dancers and screaming "liar" in their ears... probably that.
"All I want is dancing with you, baby..."
Dance music + yodeling + reggae and rap vignettes + an accordion + random costumes =

Jozin and Gunther!
There's nothing like music in a foreign language about a bog monster:
And there's very few problems that can't be solved by a creepy 'stache and unsubtle innuendo.
Other amazing tunes by Gunther and the Sunshine Girls include "Pussycat", "Touch Me", "Teeny Weeny String Bikini", and "The Ding Dong Song." As quoted from the official website www.gunthernet.com :"The four main things in Günther's life are Champagne, Glamour, Sex and Respect!"

First post...
This is my first post.
Hooray.
Actually I started this because I want a completely anonymous blog where I can post whatever I can bear to expose.
And also because I want to share my love of bad music and attempts at poetry with complete strangers.
This selection comes from the Eurovision song contest. This is Ukraine's entry for 2007.
